Every business has a story.

Ours began in 1996.

What started as a small pine furniture shop has, over nearly three decades, grown into the Steven Burgess you see today. Through passion, hard work and a commitment to never standing still, Steven has steadily evolved the business year after year.

Today, we're proud to have a beautiful two-floor showroom, two busy workshops and a close-knit team of talented people who all share the same passion for craftsmanship.

The journey hasn't happened overnight. Every new display, every workshop expansion and every member of the team has been part of years of growth, investment and an unwavering belief in doing things the right way.

Although the business has changed enormously since 1996, Steven's approach has remained the same: listen first, understand what each client needs and create furniture that's thoughtfully designed, beautifully made and built to last.

From Conversation to Creation

If you've visited our showroom, chances are you've already met Steven.

While colours, materials and finishes are all important parts of the process, they're rarely where the conversation begins. Instead, Steven starts by understanding how you live and how you want the space to work.

He'll ask questions like:

• How do you use the room day to day?

• What's frustrating you about your current space?

• What do you need your furniture to do?

Only then does the design begin.

By combining thoughtful design with practical problem-solving, Steven creates furniture that's not only beautiful to look at, but tailored to the way each client lives. It's this balance of creativity, experience and functionality that turns an idea into a truly bespoke piece.

What advice would you give someone starting a new project?

"Before you begin, consider how you want the project to end. The most successful projects start with understanding how you want to live in the space."

What makes Steven Burgess different?

"For me, it's the people. We have a close-knit team who all take pride in what they do, and our clients get to know us throughout their project. We listen, share ideas and work together to create something that's completely unique to them.

It's a much more personal way of working, and I think that's what sets us apart."

What's your favourite moment in a project?

"Seeing a client's reaction when they first see the finished result. After months of conversations and planning, that's the moment everything comes together - and it never gets old."
